New and improved for 2026 -- the return of the Trail Series! Race against the field as well as your age group in a multi-event competition for prizes and bragging rights. The Runner's Edge Trail Series will track performances at six of our events in 2026, with a leaderboard published right here on our website.

Details:

• The races included are Bitterroot Runoff (all distances), Sentinel Hill Climb, Mountain to Meadow (both distances), Blue Mountain (both distances), Snowbowl 15k, and 11 Miles to Paradise.
• Race as many times as you want, only your top three performances will be factored into your score
• Racers do not need to sign up or opt-in, all participants will be tracked as part of the series
• Must race at least twice to be included in prizes
• At the end of the year the top three men, women, and non-binary athletes (non-binary must select men's or women's category for score calculation purposes -- see below), as well as the top men and women in each age group, will receive prizes.

Scoring:

• Your base score is determined by dividing the men's or women's course record by your time, and multiplying by 1,000.
• Top performers at each event will receive bonus points as follows:
  • 1st place - 50 points
  • 2nd place - 40 points
  • 3rd place - 30 points
  • 4th place - 20 points
  • 5th place - 10 points
• Example 1: Nick Cornell runs 20:30 (1,230 seconds) at the Sentinel Hill Climb and takes fourth. Howard Grotts's course record is 18:28 (1,108 seconds). 1108/1230 = .900 = 900 points Add 20 bonus points for taking fourth, and Nick's final score is 920 points. 
• Example 2: Jenn Lichter runs 1:08:02 (4,082 seconds) at 11 Miles to Paradise and wins, breaking Keely West's old course record of 1:11:55 (4,315 seconds). 4315/4082 = 1.057 = 1,057 points. Add 50 bonus points for winning, and Jenn's final score is 1,107 points.
