Miles Run Per Week: It really depends on the week. The past few months have been tough and I’ve only been running 20-30 miles per week, but I am now up over 50 the last couple of weeks. I’m hoping to stay consistent, injury free, and increase my mileage a bit more in preparation for some races this spring and summer.
Currently Training For: I am currently training for the Chukanut 50k in March. This will be my longest race to date and I’m hoping my body/mind will give me some good feedback on this one to encourage me to take on another ultra or two this summer and fall.
Favorite Run or Race: The Bridger Ridge Run is probably my favorite race/run of all time (so far). The Bridger Ridge line was partially shrouded in darkness, sleet, and clouds for part of the race and later opened up to reveal the full exposure and terrain of the course. Persevering in the 2012 Boston heat-wave was pretty sweet as well!
What Age Did You Start Running: I played soccer growing up and didn’t run a “race” until 2002. My running has been mostly recreational until this past year when I was initiated into a training routine with the fine folks of Run Wild Missoula.
Words of Wisdom: I try to release as much tension from my body as I can when running.
Anything Else You Would Like to Add: I am continually inspired by and enjoy the people who are part of the running community in Missoula. I love how the process of running reveals a narrative about a person and their life. I’ve recently started a running blog to comment and reflect on my running experiences. www.runhigh.org
